Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kitty Beiko, lately of Bedford via Winnipeg and Ottawa. Kitty passed away at the QEII Hospital, Halifax on March 3, 2019. Born in Maidstone, Saskatchewan on a frigid day in January 1950, Kitty was the daughter of John and Kay Andersen.

She worked as a secretary in insurance, real estate and home care. She was an avid volunteer in the school system of Ottawa. She enjoyed cooking and baking and entertaining people. She was very generous and kind to all. The greatest pleasure of her life was spending time with her two grandchildren. "Kiki" as she was known was the second mother to a lot of kids (and adult kids) over the years. She use to joke about writing a book about her exploits as a Nanny.

Kitty is survived by her mother Kay Semple, her husband Gerald, her son Robert (Ruth), her sister Lillian (Rene) Lavoie of Edmonton, her brother John Andersen (Penny) of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Gavin and Rhys and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father John Andersen and stepfather Robert Semple.

Cremation has already taken place.

A Celebration of Life will take place, Friday March 15 from 2 to 4pm, at the Sackville Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made in Kitty's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

Special thanks to the nurses and doctors in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, ICU. They are amazing and wonderful people.

             MISS ME
      BUT LET ME GO
When I come to the end
    of the road
And the sun has set for
    me,
I want no rites in a
   gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set
    free?
Miss me a little, but not
    too long,
And not with your head
    bowed low,
Remember the love that
    we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we
    all must take
And each must go alone,
It's part of the Master's
    plan,
A step on the road to
    home.
So when you are lonely
    and sick at heart
Go to the friends we
    know
And bury your sorrows
    in doing good deeds,
Miss me - but let me go.
